My first love was flying. I trained and received my pilot’s license at Canadian Flyers International in 2009. I grew up using and improving flight simulators which fostered my love for computer science and then IT networking and business administration, which is what I studied at George Brown College in 2008, completing my education at Ryerson University in their Information Technology Project Management program.
My career has taken me around the world in a variety of complex roles, and some jobs are so ‘new’ there’s no title beyond IT Consultant. Today, I most enjoy helping social services organizations and non-profit enterprises. I like training their staff, consulting, and designing better systems to help them manage virtual assets and stay secure. In most cases, I help bridge the gap between outsourced IT companies and internal teams.
Kearn’s Technology, the company I founded in 2012 and where I serve today as the Chief Technical Officer, is focused on IT management and management consulting. Our services span infrastructure projects, cloud migrations, and developing security protocols and other systems to future-proof an organization. We help businesses meet their industry compliance requirements and excel in their fields.
Kearns Technology began when I was visiting Baker Lake in Nunavut, a remote community in northern Canada where I built and trained a team of contractors to assist with artic IT development projects. Upon my return to Toronto, I began working as a technology consultant at an organization in Regent Park. We continue to work with them and many other venerated enterprises in the social sector.
